Nicola Rizzoli believes the VAR and Referee has made a Mistake

By db-admin

DBasia.news – Top Serie A referee committee, Nicola Rizzoli, confirmed Inter Milan should have received a penalty against Parma. Rizzoli considered, there was an error made by the court.

Previously, the CEO of Inter Milan, Giuseppe Marotta criticized the referee who led the match against Parma, Marco Piccinini. According to Marotta, Inter Milan should have received a penalty after Ivan Perisic was dropped in the forbidden box. Had a penalty been awarded, the game which ended in a 2-2 score would likely have been different.

“I just want to say that it is our duty to protest against the referee. This is the only place to protest because there is no other way to have our voices heard,” Marotta said as reported by Sky Sports.

“Everyone in the world of football supports technology to reduce errors. However, when an incident like that in a match technology should be used to do the evaluation.”

“We know referee Piccinini shouldn’t be leading the game because he replaced the injured Luca Pairetto. Piccinini also didn’t give us the penalty we deserved against Benevento.”

Marotta’s statement received a response from the person in charge of appointing the referee to officiate the match in Serie A, Nicola Rizzoli. The former referee admitted that there was an error.

“There was a penalty that should have been given to Inter Milan. Undoubtedly, Perisic was the first player to have possession of the ball, then the Parma defender who was behind was pulling. It was a penalty that had to be awarded,” Rizzoli told Sky Sports.

“VAR should be looking for an objective site and the purpose of the arm over the shoulder is to prevent him from jumping higher than the defender. In this case, VAR should have been used.”

“This is an individual error. I am here to provide an explanation. This is a mistake, it should have been a penalty for Inter Milan,” he added.

Lately, Serie A referees have been under the spotlight after not using VAR properly. Previously, the court for the AC Milan match against AS Roma was sentenced to one month for making a mistake.
