North West Derby, Statistics Don’t Side with Manchester United

By db-admin

DBasia.news –  It will not be easy for Manchester United to win over Liverpool in the continuation of Week 9 of the Premier League at Old Trafford on Sunday (10/20) night Western Indonesian Time.

At the moment, the intense pressure is being felt by Manchester United and manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer. A series of bad results make United currently slumped in 12th place in the Premier League standings. The Red Devils are only two points from the red zone and 15 points behind the top standings.

The results were a result of the poor performance of the Solskjaer fleet. That was exposed from statistical data. From who can describe how United will be difficulted when facing Liverpool.

At the moment Man United’s performance in the Premier League is at a lower level compared to Jose Mourinho’s final period. Now, United only records an average of one point per game.

Problems are also very obvious in United’s attack line. This season Solskjaer’s side didn’t fire shots on goal and of course scored. On average the Red Devils only release about five shots on target and only one goal per match.

Related to this, the minimum number of shots on target is because United have released more speculation from outside the penalty box than shots from inside the box. In the matter of shots on target, United is currently ranked 10th with 33 shots. They even lost to Southampton and Norwich.

The minimum number of shots from inside United’s penalty box is closely related to the creation of opportunities. Until the eighth week, United recorded an average of under one opportunity per match. For opportunities, United are ranked 18th or worst in the Premier League this season by only making nine golden opportunities.

Speaking of opportunities, since 2018-19 Paul Pogba and Ashley Young have been the players who have made the most golden opportunities (8), followed by Luke Shaw and Markus Rashford (7). Of these players, only Rashford is regularly played.

The last of course matters scoring goals. Until the eighth week, United could only make nine goals. They are 13th in goal productivity in the Premier League this season.

If you want to be able to serve, even bend Liverpool, United must be able to change all aspects of their game. If it’s still similar to what the statistics show, then the final result of the game can be guessed.
