Basia.news – Atletico Madrid striker’s soap opera, Antoine Griezmann, continues. After deciding to leave Atletico, Griezmann was linked with PSG (Paris Saint-Germain) and Barcelona.
Griezmann, 28, decided to move from Atletico, which has been strengthened since 2014. The French striker was rumored to have joined Barcelona, which would redeem a purchase clause of 120 million euros.
However, Griezmann was allegedly rejected by fans and most Barcelona players in the player’s dressing room. They were disappointed because the former Real Sociedad player refused to join Barcelona last year.
In addition, Griezmann was impressed by the momentum of the interest of other clubs by pulling on his situation in Atletico – to make a mini-documentary film.
As a result, according to Sport-English, Griezmann is closer to PSG than Barcelona. At Paris, Griezmann will be plotted as a substitute for Edinson Cavani. He will also be back playing in his hometown under Thomas Tuchel.
While awaiting negotiations between Atletico and interested clubs, Griezmann asked the public to be patient waiting for the official announcement. He promised to confirm it himself if his transfer to another club was realized.
“I know where I want to go (Griezmann’s new club). I know and also the sacrifices I need to go there,” Griezmann said in an interview session with Telefoot.
“I only ask for a little patience. As soon as possible I can say something, so I will be happy to do it,” he continued.
During five years of strengthening Atletico, Griezmann has won three titles: the Spanish Super Cup (2014), the European Super Cup (2018), and the Europa League (2017-18). With the French national team, Griezmann has recorded 70 caps and 29 goals and successfully won the 2018 World Cup title.
