Odion Ighalo Enjoys the Dream of Playing with Manchester United
By db-admin
DBasia.news – Odion Ighalo’s dream is to wear the red jersey of Manchester United. He also enjoyed living in his dream.
As a child, like children in Nigeria in general, Odion Ighalo never missed watching the Premier League match, especially if the one playing was Manchester United. Although for that he must save his allowance.
Now, at the age of 30, Ighalo has joined his favorite club after being brought in by Manchester United from Shanghai Shenhua on loan in January.
Since being with United, Ighalo has contributed four goals in eight appearances under the care of Ole Gunnar Solskjaer. As a striker, Ighalo now plays in the position of his idol, Andy Cole.
To the BBC, Ighalo openly revealed that he idolized the MU front line duo, Andy Cole and Dwight Yorke. For Ighalo, the two legends really inspired him as a child.
“When we were little in Nigeria, we often watched the Premier League on television, especially when Andy Cole played. I grew up with a love for Manchester United, “said Ighalo.
“When I remember all that now, I laughed from Ajegunle to the Theater of Dreams. This is the happiest moment of my life, playing for my dream team,” he stated.
Currently Manchester United are in a positive trend. Besides being able to compete in the top five of the Premier League, the Red Devils also have a great chance of qualifying for the quarter-finals of the Europa League after crushing the representatives of Austria, LASK Linz, in the first leg of the top 16 round.
Ighalo, who was previously considered a mediocre striker, has now become a rather dangerous striker. Despite being a coating, Ighalo is able to boost United’s performance.
“Odion Ighalo did very well when he scored the first goal, he enjoyed his role as a striker,” Solskjaer sad as quoted by ESPN.
