Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is still looking for a new captain for Manchester United

Manchester United’s new captain is in the middle of a puzzle. That was after Antonio Valencia, who previously held the post, left at the end of the 2018-2019 season.

Throughout the 2019-2020 preseason, at least four different names assume the position of captain. The four Manchester United players are David De Gea, Ashley Young, Nemanja Matic, and Juan Mata.

In addition to the four names, there is one more who entered the candidate for Manchester United captain, Paul Pogba. However, now Pogba is on the doorstep.

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer commented on the possibility of David De Gea becoming the captain of Manchester United. The Norwegian man claimed to be announcing the field general of the Red Devils soon.

“Will David De Gea be the permanent captain of Manchester United? We currently have the option of several different types of captains,” said Ole Gunnar Solskjaer.

“There are vocal leaders who speak and there are also players like David De Gea. De Gea has done his best while defending Manchester United.”

“David De Gea will play in the majority of Manchester United’s matches. We will soon announce the captain’s structure soon,” he continued.

David De Gea is said to deserve the title of captain of Manchester United. Besides being almost always playing, the Spanish goalkeeper was long enough to defend the Red Devils.
