DBasia.news – Ole Gunnar Solskjaer does not understand the tight schedule felt by his team, Manchester United. He questioned UEFA’s decision in determining the distribution of schedules.
Manchester United met Barcelona on Thursday (11/4) WIB. However, Paul Pogba and his mates will play the second leg on Wednesday (17/4).
The schedule has confused Ole Gunnar Solskjaer. As the club that appeared in the first leg on Thursday will immediately play the second leg on Wednesday.
That way, Manchester United will play three matches in six days. Before visiting Barcelona’s headquarters, Man United had beaten West Ham United 2-1 in the Premier League match on Saturday (13/4).
“I did not understand that. Someone had to explain to me to the other team that they had extra time for a day. We tried to ask Google about that,” Solskjaer told the BBC.
“Should UEFA change that? Yes, 100 percent. Someone must explain why the first leg is on Wednesday (Thursday morning WIB) became the second leg on Tuesday (Wednesday morning WIB) in the Champions League,” he added.
“The UEFA Administration decides which Champions League matches will compete on Tuesday and which on Wednesday based on the relevant draw.”
The formation of the match schedule is actually also affected by requests from broadcasting rights holders. Broadcasters usually ask UEFA to give the opportunity to show each team at least once.
“The rule is that each club must play the same number of matches on Tuesday and Wednesday. Exceptions to this can be made by the UEFA administration system,” Solskjaer said.
