Ole Gunnar Solskjaer No Better than Jose Mourinho

DBasia.news –  In two consecutive leagues throughout the competition, Manchester United has swallowed two consecutive defeats with a score of (0-3) against Barcelona and (0-4) against Everton. The impact given by Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has slowly faded.

The four goals that nested into De Gea’s goal meant that United went through 11 matches in a row without a clean sheet and this last happened in 1998. Plus, this season United has conceded 46 goals and made this the team’s worst defense in a Premier League season.

Solskjaer, from 17 games conceded 17 goals, while former United manager, Jose Mourinho, conceded 29 goals in 17 matches. The statistics showed a little of United’s kindness under Solskjaer rather than Mourinho, but the facts were otherwise.

Since being appointed as United’s permanent manager at the end of last May, Solskjaer has a winning ratio of 33.3 percent and the ratio lost to Mourinho in the first half of the season – before being replaced by Solskjaer.

The Special One won 10 times, drew seven times and lost seven times with a winning ratio of 41.6 percent. Solskjaer’s record was even better when he was still an interim (temporary) manager with a record of 14 wins, two draws and three losses in all competitions with a winning ratio of 73.7 percent.

United now only have a target finish in the Champions League zone after being eliminated from the FA Cup, League Cup and Champions League. Having one game postponed, United mathematically can still reach that position as it is only two points away from Arsenal which are on fourth place in the standings.

Fortunately for United at the same time, Tottenham Hotspur and Arsenal lost, so there is still a chance for United to enter the top four. It’s just that they can no longer lose points in the remaining matches, including against Manchester City (25/4) and Chelsea (28/4).
