Ole Gunnar Solskjaer Still Hopes David De Gea Signs New Contract
By db-admin
DBasia.news – David De Gea is still in the spotlight because his contract expires with Manchester United at the end of this season.
This situation has even made the Serie A giants, Juventus plan to bring the Spanish goalkeeper in the summer of 2020. De Gea’s chances of leaving seem to be more open because starting in January, he can open negotiations and even sign pre-contracts with his new club candidates.
If previously the polemic of De Gea’s new contract was invited by the club’s legendary former goalkeeper, Edwin van der Sar to comment, this time it was Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s turn to open the vote. The Norwegian man even hopes that the player will stay at Old Trafford.
“I want David (De Gea) to stay here (Manchester United). He knows that. De Gea is the best goalkeeper in the world. We’ve all seen him in the last few years. I hope that he can convince him to end his football career at “Manchester United and deliver the club at the highest level,” said Solskjaer as reported by the Mirror.
“There is a lot of discussion between the club and De Gea regarding this matter. Hopefully, everything will be over quickly and find a bright spot,” added the man who strengthened United from 1996 to 2007.
It does not seem surprising if Solskjaer hopes that De Gea will stay at Old Trafford, because the 28-year-old goalkeeper is still an irreplaceable figure under the crossbar and has played a total of 377 matches in all competitions.
Although he still hopes that De Gea will survive, this does not necessarily make the club stay silent and not look for potential successors, the last club owner of 20 Premier League titles is claimed to target Jordan Pickford or Jan Oblak.
