DBasia.news – Crystal Palace Left back, Patrick van Aanholt, scored the determining winning goal of the Eagles. Palace won 2-1 at Old Trafford over Manchester United in Week three of the Premier League, Saturday (8/24) WIB.
United’s one goal in the match was scored by Daniel James, while Palace’s two goals were released by Jordan Ayew and Patrick van Aanholt. Palace lost control of the ball and only released three kicks on target – two goals.
Palace came out victorious and ended the never winning record against United at Old Trafford. Van Aanholt considered there was always a first for everything and his team had to work hard for the victory.
“There is always a first for everything. I think we have played very well. I think we deserve to get three points,” said Van Aanholt as quoted by Goal.
“We know they will dominate possession, we know they will attack. We have been working all week. At half-time, we knew we would not lose in that match. We want three points.”
The Dutch player also talked about the goal process that he set up. Through a counterattack, Van Aanholt came forward and fired a shot that failed to be perfectly anticipated by David De Gea.
“I see space and I move as quickly as possible. I know I have speed. I kick the ball and the ball goes into the goal,” said Van Aanholt.
“Three points. This is a very challenging match. We defended well and luck was on our side today,” he concluded.
