Paul Pogba is not considered a great player

DBasia.news – Liverpool legend, Jamie Carragher considers Manchester United midfielder, Paul Pogba not to be a great player, even though he has already won the World Cup.

Carragher also considered, Pogba is not a world-class midfielder. In fact, according to him, Pogba cannot be compared to a line of great midfielders in the past, such as Frank Lampard, Steven Gerrard and Yaya Toure.

“Will I choose him in the Manchester United team? No, I will not do so. He is a big name, he comes with a large transfer fee, but I do not think he is a great player,” said Carragher as quoted by the Daily Mail.

The 27-year-old midfielder is currently in the spotlight. As in the last few matches with Man United, Pogba was not assigned as the player to fill the starting XI.

“People say he won the World Cup and I understand that. But when he arrived, I thought he might have an impact like Lampard at Chelsea, Gerrard at Liverpool, Yaya Toure at Man City,” he explained.

“When you are someone who is seen as a player who can take United to the next level, which is probably too much pressure for one player, but that is to be expected when he arrives,” continued Carragher.

Pogba’s appearance at Man United is considered unlike when he played for Juventus for four seasons. At the Italian club, Pogba’s role is very visible in midfield.

“The most expensive player in the world, can do everything in midfield, doing it for Juventus, but he has not done it at Manchester United,” concluded Carragher.

Apart from Carragher, France coach, Didier Deschamps also commented on Pogba’s appearance. He stated that the player appeared unhappy with the situation at Old Trafford.
