DBasia.news –  Manchester City got a shocking defeat on the 24th-week of Premier League. Visiting Newcastle United home on Wednesday (30/1), The Citizens got defeated 1-2 and City manager Pep Guardiola said they need to struggle to preserve the title this season.

Actually, Manchester City dominated the match. The Citizens created 12 chances and possessed the ball 77%. Moreover, Sergio Aguero already scored the goal when the match went less than one minute.

But, Newcastle United revived in the second half. The host dominated by the goals from Salomon Rondon (66′) and the penalty kick from Matt Ritchie (80′).

“It wasn’t our best. We started with a goal but all the game we didn’t have the rhythm that we need to impose our game,” Guardiola said as cited by Soccerway.

“That’s why when we play in that situation, the second balls, the long balls, we didn’t take it. Our game was slow, we didn’t commit, we didn’t find the players,” Guardiola said.

“It happens. They shoot the first time and it was a goal, the second time was a penalty. We had the chances. Congratulations to Newcastle for the victory,” he said.

Pep Guardiola thinks it’s difficult for Manchester City to keep their title. “It’s more difficult (to win the league), but we have a chance to do it. We knew we had to win a lot of games,” Guardiola emphasized.

Currently, Manchester City are four points behind the table leader, Liverpool.  But, The Reds still have the match against Leicester City, Wednesday (31/1).
