Pep Guardiola’s response to Sarri’s comments regarding Europe’s best clubs

By news-admin

DBasia.news –  The words of Pep Guardiola who assess Juventus, Barcelona and Bayern Munich, as the three best European teams in the last 10 years triggered Santiago Solari, Real Madrid coach, to speak. Now, Guardiola returned the favor.

Solari said that Guardiola’s speech was intentionally done, even though Real Madrid won three consecutive Champions League titles in the last three seasons. Guardiola deliberately did it because he had previously strengthened and trained Barcelona, Madrid’s arch rivals.

“It seems (the statement from Guardiola) is intentional negligence. Madrid is the best team in history and in the past decade,” Solari said in response to Guardiola’s comments some time ago.

The Manchester City manager responded to comments from Solari. Guardiola clarified his words a little, however, remains adamant that Europe’s best teams for the past 10 years are: Bayern, Juventus and Barcelona.

“Thank you very much, but I will be kind to Madrid supporters, who are disappointed with me, who say the best team in Europe is Real Madrid,” Guardiola replied, quoted from Goal .

“Because in the last three years they have won (Champions League) and I think they are the best team so far in Europe in the last decade, and the best team is Real Madrid.”

“But, Real Madrid are not the best team for a decade when you counted league titles, tournaments and others, because Juventus, Barcelona and Bayern Munich won six or seven times, and they (Madrid) won twice. I’m pretty sure Solari now understands my answer is better, I’m pretty sure they are now happy with me, “explained Guardiola.

In other words, Guardiola’s benchmark does not call Madrid the best European team in the last 10 years, because they have not consistently won trophies at the local level (LaLiga or Copa del Rey). Despite the fact, the Champions League title has a prestigious side among the trophies.
