DBasia.news –  Liverpool won the European Super Cup against Chelsea. One of the most highlighted players after the match was goalkeeper, Adrian.

The 32-year-old goalkeeper became a hero for Liverpool’s victory as he succeeded in driving away Tammy Abraham’s penalty.

After the match, former Reds goalkeeper, Pepe Reina, congratulated Adrian.

“What an interesting week for Adrian. Congratulations to Liverpool, especially Adrian. “It’s really a proud game,” said Reina.

Pepe Reina had experienced a similar moment when he was still defending Liverpool. In the 2006 FA Cup, he managed to bring his team to win penalties against West Ham United at the Millennium Stadium, Cardiff.

At that time, he successfully foiled Anton Ferdinand’s kick in a penalty shootout. Liverpool also successfully won the trophy at the end of the tournament thanks to the rescue of Reina.

Adrian was actually the coating goalkeeper to Alisson Becker who was prepared for this season, replacing Simon Mignolet who returned to Belgium.
