DBasia.news – Manchester United and Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) are still monitoring Philippe Coutinho’s situation in Barcelona. His performance has not improved. Responding to all these rumors, Coutinho does not promise to stay at Camp Nou.
Recently Coutinho has helped Barcelona win 5-1 over Olympique Lyonnais in the second leg of the last 16 Champions League, Thursday (14/3) WIB. Coutinho scored one goal and listed his name on the scoreboard with Lionel Messi (two goals), Gerard Pique and Ousmane Dembele.
But one goal that does not guarantee the 26-year-old player to survive at Camp Nou. Coutinho hasn’t been consistent since being bought for more than 130 million euros from Liverpool in January 2018.
The frantic appearance of Coutinho who did not match his worth led to rumors of his transfer to another club. Barca might sell him if until the end of the 2018-19 season Coutinho’s game does not develop.
In response to all the criticism, Coutinho was aware that his performance so far had not been optimal with Barcelona. He tried to look good in the next matches, however, it does not guarantee that he will survive in the future.
“In a few weeks or even the last few months I did not succeed in showing good performance, I was aware of it and still have the desire to improve,” said Coutinho, reported Mirror.
“I came to Barcelona to give the best performance. Now I only focus on the things that are happening right now. Nobody knows what will happen in the future.”
“One thing is certain, I feel happy with the performance that I showed at the Lyon match,” explained the Vasco da Gama academy alumni.
Even though his performance was not like when he defended Liverpool, Ernesto Valverde, Barca coach, still often gave him the opportunity to play on the left side of the attack in a 4-3-3 formation. Coutinho used to compete with Luis Suarez and Messi on the front lines.
