Pique Asks Barcelona to Improve Towards Facing Lyon

DBasia.news –  Barcelona defender, Gerard Pique is pessimistic about Barcelona’s chances of winning against Olympique Lyonnais next week, if the club still looks as bad as when they faced Real Valladolid in LaLiga.

Barcelona won 1-0 while facing with Real Valladolid in the final match of the 2018-2019 League. The match took place at Camp Nou, Saturday (16/2).

Barcelona’s single goal was scored by Lionel Messi two minutes before the interval. The goal they got through the spot and Messi did his job well.

Although already winning, it does not necessarilly mean Barcelona can relax. Because, Ernesto Valverde’s squad will still face Lyon in the Champions League match.

Gerard Pique has asked his team-mates not to repeat the same performance as when they met Lyon. That is because Lyon has the ability to punish Barcelona.

“Barcelona is not playing well. The only good news is that we won and got three points. Barcelona must be better or things will get worse,” Gerard Pique told Movistar.

“Barcelona must play with the flow. That kind of play is proven to give us a title. Barcelona can posses the ball or we become a weak team.”

“This is not good for the match against Lyon later. Barcelona must play better, if not, they will punish us,” added Gerard Pique.

Barcelona will travel to Lyon headquarters at Parc Olympique Lyonannais. Afterwards, the second leg will take place at Blaugrana headquarters, Camp Nou.
