DBasia.news – Pedro Rodriguez’s goals and Kieran Trippier self-goal gave Chelsea a 2-0 win over Tottenham Hotspur in Week 28 of the Premier League, Thursday (28/2) WIB. The defeat can be assessed as the end of the Spurs struggle to win the Premier League title.
Now the North London team is eight points behind Manchester City, who are second and nine points behind Liverpool at the top with the remaining ten games to the end of the highest competition in English football.
Tottenham manager, Mauricio Pochettino was disappointed by the defeat his team had and their failure to record a single shot on target to the goal guarded by Willy Caballero.
“We clearly lack points compared to the two teams that are above us, besides that in this match we did not make enough shots. “We did not record shots on target and did not have a satisfying game consistency,” Mauricio Pochettino told a news conference quoted by Sky Sports.
The Argentine manager said that his team could compete with the Blues in the match but did not show their best performance. The tight match was only tinged with one shot on target for the home side when Pedro scored the opening goal, while their winning goal came thanks to Kieran Trippier and Hugo Lloris’ mistake.
