Pogba and Rashford Claimed Fit, Manchester United Manager Confirms Ready to Continue Premier League
By db-admin
DBasia.news – Manchester United manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer claimed that Paul Pogba and Marcus Rashford are ready to play if the Premiere League competition to be held again.
Solskjaer’s certainty was obtained after seeing the development of Pogba and Rashford in routine training the last few days. Before the Premiere League was suspended due to a mid-March 2020 pandemic, Pogba and Rashford were injured.
Pogba has three ankle injuries this year and must be absent for more than four months since September 2019. The ankle injury caused Pogba to get on the operating table in early 2020 so that during the second half of the season he recovered more.
On the other hand, Rashford previously suffered a spinal injury in mid-January 2020. After undergoing a recovery period, Rashford and Pogba have now started training with Man United’s squad.
Solskjaer rate Rashford and Pogba’s condition is very good and certainly can play again when the Premiere League continues.
“Rashford and Pogba are in good condition. They have started training and devouring the same training menu as other players,” Solskjaer said as quoted by The Guardian, Wednesday (5/27).
“Rashford and Pogba did not show a bad reaction when practicing. I think we will have the whole squad to be chosen when the competition starts again,” concluded Solskjaer.
Although confident Man United’s squad is ready to return to play, Solskjaer still has to wait for the certainty of the continuation of the Premiere League.
The reason is, until now, there are still no signs the competition will roll again. At the end of April 2020, 20 teams participating in the Premiere League had agreed to continue and finish the competition this season.
That commitment was strengthened by a document called “Project Restart” released by the Premier League in early May 2020. Project Restart is a document containing the safety guidelines for players, coaches, and all Premiere League team staff when returning to training.
Some points contained in the Project Restart are players are prohibited from spitting during practice, Covid-19 test must be done 48 hours before training, until the rules of parking the car in the training complex.
The efforts of the Premier League and 20 participating teams to complete the competition received positive responses from the British Government. On May 14, 2020, the British Government gave permission for the Premier League to finish the competition starting in June.
After the permit was issued, the Premier League was called peg June 12 as a target to continue the competition. However, plans to continue the Premiere League still meet obstacles. On May 18, the Premier League released the results of 748 Covid-19 tests for players, coaches, and staff of each team. The result, there were six people who tested positive for Covid-19.
One of them is Burnley’s assistant coach, Ian Woan. The results of these tests make the Premier League again doubtful will be continued because some previous players have also refused to play again.
Currently, Manchester United is fifth in the standings with 45 points.
