Real Madrid Aims for Pepe Reina, while Potentially Losing Keylor Navas

DBasia.news –  Keylor Navas is rumored to be leaving Real Madrid to play more. The Costa Rican keeper does not object in moving to PSG.

Zinedine Zidane, Madrid coach, has taken the decision to make Thibaut Courtois as Los Blancos’ number one goalkeeper. Navas, who has defended Madrid for five years, does not want to be Courtois’ coating.

Reported by Spanish media, Levante’s former goalkeeper has asked Madrid to sell him and he received a chance to strengthen PSG. Incidentally, Les Parisiens is indeed looking for an experienced goalkeeper to be Alphonse Areola’s companion, as Gianluigi Buffon had left.

Navas has the ideal profile to be a PSG goalkeeper, especially they have had difficulty recruiting Gianluigi Donnarumma. Navas has won three Champions League titles, four Club World Cups, two European Super Cups, one LaLiga and the Spanish Super Cup.

PSG had been eyeing Navas since the end of last season. However, Madrid has tagged him for 20 million euros and PSG considers the worth to be too high. The transfer could have happened again because Navas wanted to leave.

Keylor Navas’ Four Alternative Goalkeepers Substitute

In the midst of PSG’s efforts to recruit Navas, Madrid has begun to hunt for a replacement. According to Raul Fuentes, author of Marca, there are four goalkeepers who could be an option to be Navas’ substitute and coating – as well as competitors – for Courtois.

The four goalkeepers are in their thirties: Pepe Reina (36 years), Willy Caballero (37 years), Maarten Stekelenburg (36 years) and Diego Benaglio.

Among the four goalkeepers, Reina and Caballero, deserves to be considered by Madrid. Both of them had played in Spain, specifically Reina, the product of La Masia who had defended Barcelona and was originally born in Spain.
