By db-admin

DBasia.news –  Some of Europe’s top LaLiga have played their last match on Monday (12/23) AM. Real Madrid failed to win, while Napoli defeated Sassuolo in Serie A.

Starting from week 18 of LaLiga between Real Madrid and Athletic Bilbao at the Santiago Bernabeu. El Real failed to take advantage of the status of the host and won three points to continue to stick tight to the defending champion, Barcelona.

A number of opportunities to score have come from Toni Kroos, Karim Benzema, Vinicius Junior and Luka Jovic. However, in the end, none of those opportunities resulted in goals and a goalless result was enough to frustrate Zinedine Zidane’s team.

Real Madrid dominated possession by 70 percent, releasing 20 kicks and eight of them on target, but none of the kicks resulted with a goal.

Not only did Bilbao played collectively, organized in the back line, their goalkeeper, Unai Simon, also performed well as when dismissing opportunities from Vinicius in the first half.

Real Madrid are now in second place with 37 points, two points adrift of Barcelona at the top of the standings. Under Madrid there are Sevilla (34 points), Atletico Madrid (32 points), and Real Sociedad (31 points).

Switching to Serie A. Napoli ended their eight-match winless streak in Week 17 of Serie A at the Stadio Citta del Tricolore, Sassuolo headquarters. The match ended 2-1 for Napoli’s victory directed by Gennaro Gattuso.

The match was tight with 1-1 of Hamed Junior Traore’s goal (29 ‘) which Allan scored (57’). Napoli’s second goal was created in the 90 + 4 minute through an own goal by Sassuolo midfielder, Pedro Obiang.

Napoli still maintained their hope of getting into the top four or the Champions League zone. Partenopei is currently in eighth place of the standings with 24 points, 11 points adrift of AS Roma who are fourth in the standings.
