Real Madrid Had No Backup Plan After Releasing Cristiano Ronaldo to Juventus

DBasia.news – Cristiano Ronaldo’s departure from Real Madrid to Juventus is still trending so far. Moreover, the former Madrid President Vicente Boluda thinks his former club had no backup plan when releasing Ronaldo.

Real Madrid released Cristiano Ronaldo to Juventus during the 2018 summer transfer market worth 105 million euro. Thus, Los Blancos lose the player who could at least score 30 goals within a season. Moreover, during his nine-year period in Madrid, the Portuguese player could score 450 goals from 436 matches.

After Ronaldo left, Real Madrid tried to sign some players like Eden Hazard, Neymar, and Kylian Mbappe. But, no one came until the deadline.

“I will not be the one to add fuel to the fire. I do not want to delve into the wound, but Cristiano’s 50 goals have come to nothing and that is a reality,” Boluda said cited by Daily Star.

Boluda was surprised when Real Madrid released Ronaldo to Juventus. “

“Very much (I was surprised), but mostly because there was no alternative plan,” the former President continued.

“These things have to be done with a program of two or three years. It’s like a company when you decide to relieve the entire board of directors. It’s not something you can do overnight.”

Actually, Real Madrid signed the new strikers this year, Mariano Diaz and Vinicius Junior. But, they haven’t contributed as significant as Cristiano Ronaldo.

“Cristiano has gone, the rest is left and nothing happens … Well, what is happening is happening, which was inevitable,” Boluda said.

Consequently, Real Madrid couldn’t compete Barcelona in LaLiga temporary table. Now, they have 10 points gap.
