Revealed: Before the Match, Rakitic Had A Fever

By db-admin

DBasia.newsCroatian National Team midfielder, Ivan Rakitic, admitted that he had a fever just before the match versus England in the semifinal round of 2018 World Cup in Luzhniki Stadium, Wednesday (11/7). But, with great determination, he ignored it.

Rakitic’s role within Vatreni games is very important. Besides dividing the ball, the 30 years old player also contributed to Croatian’s attack.

If the former Sevilla player didn’t join, it would be bad for Croatian’s performance. Considering his importance, Rakitic forced to perform.

“Last night I had a fever, almost 39 (degrees),” said Rakitic after the match, reported by Soccerway.

“I was lying in bed finding the strength to play and it was worth it. I would play a final without a leg if necessary,” emphasized Barcelona frontman.

Rakitic’s decision to perform was worth it. Croatia succeeded to come back by free kick goal of Kieran Trippier when the match was just 5 minutes going.

Ivan Perisic (68′) and Mario Mandzukic (109′) ensured Luka Modric and friends’ step to the final round. Later, Croatian will meet France in Luzhniki Stadium, Sunday (15/7).
