Rio Ferdinand Claims how Manchester United Trains Wilfried Zaha is Wrong
By db-admin
DBasia.news – Former Manchester United defender, Rio Ferdinand pleaded guilty to Wilfried Zaha’s messy career while strengthening the Red Devils. Zaha had to experience the worst days of his career when brought in by Man United from Crystal Palace in 2013.
Zaha, who was young at the time, was said to be a star candidate after an impressive performance at Crystal Palace for three seasons since 2010. He recorded 110 appearances in the Championship stage and contributed 12 goals.
MU was tempted to bring Zaha to Old Trafford, hoping the Ivory Coast-born player will have a big impact on the team.
However, Zaha came at the wrong time as MU is in a period of regime transition from Sir Alex Ferguson to David Moyes. Zaha only recorded two appearances and was loaned by Manchester United to Cardiff City. But Zaha’s appearance did not change much, he appeared 12 times without scoring goals.
In the 2014/2015 season, MU returned home to Crystal Palace with a loan status. However, previous bad experiences could not make Zaha return to find his best performance. Zaha recorded 15 appearances with a score of one goal.
“Zaha was handled the wrong way by Manchester United, I’m sure of that. Even though the club has started a big transition and as a senior I must do more to help him,” Ferdinand said in his social media account.
Meanwhile, Zaha in Ferdinand’s YouTube account admitted his heart was broken when he was displaced at MU. The big cause was that Ferguson retired when he arrived. In fact, his reason to head to MU was because of Ferguson.
“I feel devastated because, after talking to him, I no longer think about wanting to move there. I didn’t know that he would retire,” Zaha stated.
However, now Zaha has rediscovered his best performance. Last season, Zaha was also shot by Arsenal. While this season Zaha always appeared in 29 Palace matches in the Premier League before the competition was postponed due to the Corona pandemic.
Zaha admitted that he still opened the opportunity for Arsenal if wanting to bring him in. Zaha also feels that Arsenal is the right team to fulfill his desire to win the title.
“If there is a chance to win the trophy, I would 100 percent welcome it. That’s what I want in my career 100 percent and what I’m trying to do,” explained the 27-year old player.
