Rio Ferdinand Comments on Eden Hazard’s Performance at Real Madrid
By db-admin
DBasia.news – Rio Ferdinand assessed that Eden Hazard did not come to Real Madrid at the right time. This is the reason he has not performed well in Madrid.
As is known, Hazard was officially recruited by Madrid in the summer transfer window of 2019. Los Blancos management – Madrid’s nickname – took Hazard from Chelsea with a dowry of 100 million euros or approximately Rp1.5 trillion.
Hazard’s presence is expected to fill the void left by Cristiano Ronaldo in the Madrid squad. However, the appearance of the Belgium national team captain with Madrid so far has not been too promising.
Even in Madrid’s match against Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) on the inaugural matchday of Group A in the 2019-2020 Champions League, Hazard’s performance drew a lot of criticism. Yes, Hazard is considered to have failed to save Madrid from the 0-3 defeat by PSG.
Ferdinand who followed the progress of Hazard with Madrid then gave his comments. According to the former England national team defender, Hazard decided to join Madrid at the wrong time.
“When you join a new club, especially as big as Real Madrid, you must produce the right to become a player who gets all the balls, which they consider to be a mainstay player,” explained Ferdinand, as quoted from Metro, Friday (09/20/2019).
“He has to do something in the match practice and in the match itself, to make them want to give you the ball. I am afraid that he joined Real Madrid at the wrong time, “he continued.
“The Real Madrid squad is aging, they are not improving and they do not have the same enthusiasm at the moment, and that will have a negative effect on him, even worse, in the long run,” completed the 40-year-old man.
