Robert Lewandowski almost joined Manchester United
By db-admin
DBasia.news – Bayern Munich striker Robert Lewandowski admitted he had almost joined Manchester United when he was playing for Borussia Dortmund.
Quoted from Sportsmail, Saturday (2/22/2020), two years after he played for Dortmund, Sir Alex Ferguson once called him. He offered Lewandowski to play in England.
“It’s hard to say exactly when. But I remember that Sir Alex Ferguson called. I talked to him in his second year with Dortmund, “Lewandowski said.
“At the time I really thought I would play for Manchester United. For young players, that is something extraordinary. I spoke to the Dortmund management and they said, “No,” said the 32-year-old striker.
Together with Borussia Dortmund, Lewandowski was indeed transformed into a goal-hungry bomber. He also said that there were many beautiful moments while defending Dortmund, one of which was when they were able to get rid of Real Madrid in the 2013 Champions League.
“I am very proud of the match. When you do something with Real Madrid, surely you will feel proud. I remember feeling good at that time. I scored a goal and continued to score,” he recalls.
