Rooney wants to Copy Ferguson, Van Gaal and Mourinho’s Style of Training

DBasia.news –  Wayne Rooney revealed that he wanted to copy the coaching style of ex-Manchester United coaches such as Sir Alex Ferguson, Louis van Gaal and Jose Mourinho when he later becomes a full coach.

The 34-year-old spent 13 years of his career with Manchester United and played under five different coaches, including David Moyes and caretaker coach, Ryan Giggs.

Together with the Red Devils, Rooney won five English Premier League titles and one Champions League trophy before returning to defend his childhood club Everton for a season.

He then tested American football (US) by strengthening DC United for one year. Rooney now holds the position of assistant coach and player at the English club Derby County.

The England top scorer of all time has begun to make the transition to becoming a coach.

When asked what quality he would take from his former coaches, Rooney said: “Van Gaal’s preparations, managing players like Fergie and being stubborn like Mourinho, I think sometimes you need it.”

“Once I start training, I’m sure I will have my own way.”

For most of his career Rooney was trained by Sir Alex Ferguson, who received special praise from him.

“He is extraordinary. It’s not complicated,” he added. “He has trust in people. He trusts his coaching staff to organize training sessions, he trusts his players.”

“People always ask how to be uplifting, mostly they just say ‘You are better than them. Go and win the match.”
