Samuel Umtiti Affirms Commitment with Barcelona

Basia.news –  Samuel Umtiti was supposed to have lost his regular playing position at Barcelona. Nevertheless, Umtiti still wants to survive with Barcelona.

Samuel Umtiti was eliminated from Barcelona’s main squad since the mid-season 2018-2019. That was after the arrival of Clement Lenglet in the 2019 winter transfer market.

In fact, previously Samuel Umtiti was Barcelona’s mainstay defender. The French defender often became the main choice to accompany Gerard Pique in the heart of the Blaugrana defense.

Unfortunately, Clement Lenglet’s arrival changed everything. In fact, Lenglet was originally brought in to coat Samuel Umtiti and Gerard Pique.

Even so, Samuel Umtiti was reluctant to give up. Moreover, last season’s injury was enough to disrupt Umtiti’s performance to fail to show his best performance.

“To be honest, last season I had a difficult season in Barcelona. However, I still have a contract here,” Samuel Umtiti told RTL.

“I still feel happy playing for Barcelona. I can make sure I will stay at Barcelona next season,” continued Samuel Umtiti.

At the same time, Samuel Umtiti said he did not know anything about Antoine Griezmann’s certainty in Barcelona. In fact, both are equally defending the French national team.

“I didn’t hear anything about Antoine Griezmann’s future with the French national team. Maybe he talked about it when I wasn’t there,” said the Barcelona defender.
