Satirizing Inter, Mauro Icardi wants to Win with PSG
By db-admin
DBasia.news – Mauro Icardi revealed his reason for moving from Inter Milan to PSG (Paris Saint-Germain). Reaching for the trophy is one of the reasons.
Since being recruited by Inter from Sampdoria in the 2013 summer transfer window, Icardi has failed to win any championship at the club level. Last season, he was only able to bring Inter to finish fourth in the final standings of Serie A.
This condition eventually led Icardi to look for a new club that could realize his dream of winning the title. The choice fell to the giant club from France, PSG. The Argentine striker successfully headed to PSG in the 2019 summer transfer window on loan.
Under the agreement, PSG will borrow Icardi for one season. However, they have the option to make him permanent if they are satisfied in seeing the performance of the former Sampdoria player throughout the match this season.
In his new team, Icardi is optimistic that he will be able win the title because for him PSG was a challenger club and the title winner. Realizing his chances in winning the title at the club today, Icardi also made sure he would not waste time when playing at PSG. As he hopes to be permanent at PSG at the end of the season.
“I came here to play. If you come with a purchase option, you know the players must give their best to make sure the club decides to purchase immediately. We will see what happens next summer,” Icardi said, as quoted by Goal.
“I am in my seventh year with Inter and my dream is to play in the Champions League with Inter. I did that last season, but we have never won anything. I think the time has come for me to head to a winning club, a club that can challenge and win titles. It’s time for me to start winning. “PSG is a team full of champions and that’s what I want,” he added.
