DBasia.news – Romelu Lukaku’s inconsistent performance with Manchester United this season makes Paul Scholes worried.
He thinks Lukaku needs help from the teammates to be accurate in front of the opponent’s net.
This season, the Belgium player just scored four goals from 11 matches of all competitions. The four goals were created in the match against Brighton and Hove Albion, Watford, and Burnley. He couldn’t score any goal in the three matches with Manchester United during the Premier League this season.
“Lukaku is one of many United players who look like they’re short of confidence. I don’t think he realizes how good he can be, but he needs help because who else can play centre-forward at United now?” Scholes said.
“He’s quick and strong. I’m just not sure you are ever going to win the league with a goalscorer like Lukaku. I don’t think his play outside of the box is good enough,” he continued.
Besides the necessity of help from the teammates, Scholes also thinks The Red Devils should recruit the additional striker to be the option for Lukaku.
“They need the additional striker. Marcus Rashford and Anthony martial couldn’t replace Lukaku because they have a different characters in playing,” Scholes explained.
