DBasia.news – At a relatively young age, Sergi Samper chose to leave Europe and play in Japan, following his former Barcelona teammate Andres Iniesta.
Sergi Samper is a graduate of Barcelona’s La Masia football academy. Samper has played for every level in the Blaugrana.
Even so, Sergi Samper’s togetherness with Barcelona has ended. Rarely to get play is the reason the 24-year-old midfielder left.
Interestingly, Sergi Samper joined the Japanese club, Vissel Kobe. The decision was interesting because, at his age, Samper could still play in Europe.
Apparently, Sergi Samper wanted to prove it in Japan. The Spanish midfielder claimed to have consulted Andres Iniesta before making a decision.
“This is a great opportunity, I want to prove in myself and see self-development. I have confidence and see what happens,” Sergi Samper said.
“I am not afraid to move despite respecting Barcelona. I will not forget this club. They asked and I was a little interested. I asked Andres Iniesta.”
“This will be an extraordinary experience and I am a professional. I went after knowing, Barcelona will always be my home,” he continued.
Andres Iniesta is not the only former Barcelona player that Sergi Samper will meet at Vissel Kobe. There are also former Blaugrana attackers, David Villa.
