Sergio Ramos Becomes the Role Model of Raphael Varane

By db-admin

DBasia.news –  Raphael Varane is a figure who always wanted to learn, especially from his seniors when he was at Real Madrid.  Sergio Ramos is one of the senior players who became his role models.

Varane has been an important part of Madrid’s success in recent years.  He managed to help Los Blancos win two Spanish League titles, four Champions League titles, one Copa del Rey title, and several other trophy achievements.

But the glory was not achieved by Varane in an instant way.  Coming to Madrid after 17 years in the summer of 2011 from Lens, Varane had to work hard to become a formidable central defender like he is today.

He revealed a lot of learning from seniors in Madrid.  He made the former duo of central defenders Los Blancos, Pepe and Sergio Ramos, and Cristiano Ronaldo as a role model.

“I am inspired by players like Pepe and Sergio Ramos, they are defenders like me and Cristiano Ronaldo. He is an example for every soccer player. I learned a lot from them,” Varane was quoted as saying by Marca.

“For example, from Sergio Ramos, I can see the mentality of a champion. He always has motivation every day.”

“He always wants to win, even in training. He has the experience and never loses motivation for himself to be better,” he explained.

After Pepe’s departure in 2017, Varane became Ramos’s main tandem in the heart of Madrid’s defense.  Quoted from Transfermarkt, they appear together in 15 matches in the Spanish League this season.
