Singapura Anticipate Thailand, Not Indonesia

DBasia.news – Indonesia aren’t considered as the champion candidate of 2018 AFF Cup. Singapore national team defender, Baihakki Khaizan, mentioned Thailand at the first place.

He said that considering Thailand’s track record in recent years, especially in South East Asia.

In two previous edition in 2014 and 2016, Thailand got the champion title after defeating Malaysia and Indonesia in the final match.

In total, Thailand have achieved five AFF Cup titles since 1996 and also became the most successful country in the South East Asian level. Thailand defeated Singapore who have four titles.

“My prediction is always Thailand. They come to the final. That’s normal and not a secret for the teams in this region, so it will be Thailand,” Baihakki Khaizan explained.

The former Persib Jakarta and Persib Bandung player who is now supporting Thailand club Udon Thani also mentioned two other national teams to be the champion.

“We can’t set aside Vietnam and Malaysia. They have the U23 team who is good and performing great in Asian competition. I think it will be a great and awaited tournament,” he said in AFF Suzuki Cup interview.
