Santiago Solari

DBasia.news –  Real Madrid’s lead through Casemiro’s goal disappeared in the second half through Cristhian Stuani and Portu’s penalty goal. Girona surprisingly won with a score of 2-1 over Madrid in Week 24 of La Liga, Sunday (17/2) evening at Santiago Bernabeu.

As a result of that defeat, Madrid remained at the third rank and stand nine points adrift of LaLiga league leaders, Barcelona. Even so, Santiago Solari insists that his team has not given up the La Liga title.

“Has the league ended? No, not at all, obviously not. Next week there is another match, (the same thing) applies to our rivals too. Every game is difficult, as Girona showed today, but we have to win to cut the distance. “Solari said at Marca.

The misfortune increased for the hosts as Sergio Ramos was sent off in the 90th minute. Solari regretted the failure of his team to reach three points, but on one side was different, he praised the great performance of Girus Eusebio Sacristan.

“It’s a pity, three points have slipped from us, and our closest rivals have won; it’s unfortunate because our performance is good and cut the distance, (but) we are now three points further than yesterday (before Barca played),” Solari said.

“That is football and today there are rivals, Girona, who played well; they did not give up in the first half when we had many chances to score more goals. In the second half, they had a lot of energy and clinical attack,” explained the Argentine coach that.
