DBasia.news – The slick performance shown by Mason Greenwood in the match against AZ Alkmaar in the Europa League on Friday (12/13/2019) early morning Western Indonesian Time makes Manchester United manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer amazed. No doubt, Solskjaer called Mason Greenwood the new Rooney.
Mason Greenwood appeared impressive when Manchester United hosted AZ Alkmaar at Old Trafford in the 2019-2020 Europa League match on Thursday (12/12). Greenwood contributed two goals for the Red Devils.
In that match, Mason Greenwood’s goal was created in the 58th and 64th minutes. Thanks to both goals, Manchester United crushed AZ Alkmaar 4-0.
These two goals made Mason Greenwood the youngest Manchester United player to score two goals in one match in European competition. Greenwood itself is only 18 years old.
Ole Gunnar Solskjaer also juxtaposed Mason Greenwood with former Manchester United, Wayne Rooney. Solskjaer calls Greenwood pure talent.
“Mason Greenwood is a pure footballer. However, when he is near the goal, he is more dangerous. His right and left legs are as good,” said Ole Gunnar Solskjaer.
“Maybe Mason Greenwood is an attacker who can be a nightmare for defenders. Right now, Greenwood needs to improve his header to make it even worse.”
“I’ve seen several players like Mason Greenwood. I’ve played with Wayne Rooney. He has natural talent and one of the best,” he added.
Mason Greenwood is a graduate of the Manchester United football academy. Greenwood began to get a chance in the main squad after the Red Devils lacked attackers.
