Solskjaer’s Severance Pay is no Greater than Mourinho’s

DBasia.news –  Manchester United manager, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has been threatened to be fired before the 2019-2020 season ends. This is due to the poor performance shown by the club nicknamed the Red Devils. Apparently, the cost of compensation for letting go of Solskjaer is much smaller than that of Mourinho.

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer was on the edge after a series of negative results. Manchester United have only won two wins so far. Worse, the Red Devils have lost three times.

A few supporters has began to urge the management team to take decisive action to Solskjaer. The supporters have asked Solskjaer to step down immediately from his post. In fact, the hashtag OleOut were circulating on social media.

Manchester United reportedly will only spend 7 million euros if they later fired Solskjaer. The cost is predicted not to make the Red Devils balance sheet become unbalanced.

Previously, Manchester United had to spend up to 19.6 million pounds to provide severance to Jose Mourinho. This amount cannot be separated from the manager’s salary and the remaining duration of the contract.

Interestingly, when compared to the previous manager, Louis van Gaal, the cost of firing Solskjaer was also still cheaper. When Manchester United broke Van Gaal’s contract, the costs were 8.4 million pounds.

Meanwhile, the manager after Sir Alex Ferguson’s era who received the least compensation was David Moyes. The former Everton reportedly only received severance pay of 5.2 million pounds.

Manchester United has reportedly started looking for successor candidates for Ole Gunnar Solskjaer. Reportedly, the match against Liverpool will be a game of life and death for the manager.
