Stefan de Vrij Affirms the Focus of Inter Milan Players Not Disturbed by Icardi Issues

DBasia.news –  Inter Milan won a 2-1 victory against Lugano in pre-season matches. There is no name for Mauro Icardi in the squad who will also conduct preseason tours in Asia. Responding to the issue, Stefan de Vrij, confirmed the focus of his team was not disturbed because of Icardi.

The Argentina striker, along with Radja Nainggolan, has confirmed Giuseppe Marotta (Inter’s CEO) and Antonio Conte (Inter’s coach) are no longer included in the plan to play the team in the 2019-20 season.

Icardi, reportedly, is starting the process of leaving Juventus – the only club he is connected with at the moment. He was not brought into the preseason tour squad and trained in Italy.

All players in the Inter squad realized there was no point in getting involved in the Icardi transfer drama. According to the De Vrij version of the story, the focus of the team is currently adapting to the scheme that Antonio Conte is trying to implement.

“Everything went very well, we worked a lot in terms of physicality and technique. We stepped on the gas so we could prepare better. The formation has changed with Conte,” De Vrij said, quoted from Football-Italy.

“Things are inevitable in the three-defender scheme, but that shouldn’t be a problem. We have to do it and that’s what we’re doing.”

“He (Conte) made us understand what he wanted from the things he told us. Icardi’s problem is not our concern at all. We only think about things we can do,” said the Dutch defender.

Not just this time the Inter player discussed his indifference to the former captain of the team, Samir Handanovic as well before.

“We are happy Lele Oriali returned as the team manager because she was the liaison between the club and the squad, she saw everything,” Handanovic said, as reported by Football-Italy.

“He is here because we want to return to the values that have been lost in recent years. Players also have duties to the club, they cannot think they are allowed to do everything because they are talented. With the return of Oriali and Conte who lead, we can develop.”
