Steve Nicol Curious on Why Jurgen Klopp Rarely Plays Xherdan Shaqiri

DBasia.news – Two draws against Manchester United and Everton led to Liverpool’s failure in being at the top of the Premier League. The top position of the standings is currently occupied by Manchester City.
After failing to steal three points in his last two away games, the Reds legend, Steve Nicol immediately criticized Jurgen Klopp’s decision to always ignore his new player, Xherdan Shaqiri.
As is known, Shaqiri was only played as a substitute while meeting Man United, and against Everton, Klopp actually did not give him a minute of play because he trusted Adam Lallana more.
That decision, immediately confused Nicol. As he felt that Shaqiri got more playing minutes, the Swiss player could have changed the Reds’ playing style, seeing the good speed and accuracy he had.
“I want to know (what mistakes Shaqiri made). I do not believe that Divock Origi was a starter in the Everton counter-match,” Nicol said as quoted by the Goal.
“I do not believe that, after pulling him out, you entered Lallana before you entered Shaqiri. So, I am really confused wondering what mistakes he has made,” he concluded.
Of the last five games played by Liverpool, Shaqiri surprisingly never trusted by klopp to be a starter. In fact, he only played twice.
