DBasia.news – Liverpool’s dramatic comeback was recorded when against Barcelona in the Champions League semi-final second leg on Wednesday (8/5) early morning Western Indonesian Time. Liverpool won 4-0 at Anfield and scored 4-3 on aggregate.
The victory came after Jurgen Klopp’s side were beaten 3-0 at the Camp Nou in the first leg, and were not expected to qualify for the finals, especially with the absence of their two main attackers, Mohamed Salah and Roberto Firmino.
Although getting the chance to witness one of the historic matches, the legend of the Reds, Steven Gerrard, turned out to leave Anfield before the match ended after Divock Origi scored his second goal in the 79th minute.
“My tension when watching the match was very difficult to control. I left the stadium before the end of the match when the score had reached 4-0. I watched the match with my son and I said that he could not be too long at the stadium because he would go to school the next day,” Steven Gerrard said in an interview quoted by the Daily Mail.
Gerrard cannot see the possibility for players such as Luis Suarez or Lionel Messi to score goals that require the home team to add one goal to qualify for the finals, and then make the decision to leave Anfield in hopes of avoiding the density that can occur in traffic around the stadium.
