Submitting Transfer Request, Spalletti Allows Perisic Leaves Inter Milan

DBasia.news –  Ivan Perisic’s recent transfer request is surprising. Perisic did that amid Arsenal’s interest before the end of winter transfer market.

Inter CEO Giuseppe Marotta previously confirmed his request. It’s okay for Perisic to leave, moreover, he wants to play in the Premier League. But, there’s no offer from any club yet.

“We have to live with a situation that many clubs have in this period, which is players who express their desire for a transfer,” Marotta said cited by Football-Italia.

“We listened to the player, he has this desire. We want to make him happy, but also have to consider what is best for us. So far, no suitable offers have arrived, so we will wait.“

Inter were rumored refusing Arsenal’s offer, plus Mesut Ozil because The Gunners only want to lend him with a permanent option. Meanwhile, Inter want a permanent transfer worth 40 million euro.

The transfer request might bother Perisic’s focus. Consequently, the Croatian player was benched when Inter defeated 0-1 against Torino on the 21st-week of Serie A, Sunday (27/1).

Spalletti also insisted that for those who no longer want to play for Nerazzurri, he allows anyone to leave.

“It’s quite simple. Players can say what they want, but they are employees, they have signed contracts and in order to leave, they need someone willing to pay for them,” the Coach told Sky Sports Italia.

“You can’t leave for free and with your salary paid by someone else. If, as Marotta said, he doesn’t want to play, then clearly he’ll be left out. That’s not a problem for me. Someone who cannot contribute to the team has to stay out,” he insisted.

Before Arsenal’s interest, Jose Mourinho really adores Perisic who wanted to sign him to Manchester United. But, the interest is gone after The Special One got sacked on December 2018.

Perisic placed Inter and himself in a complicated situation after the transfer request. The best solution is to let him go. But, Arsenal must fulfill Inter’s request if they want him. In the remaining time of the winter transfer market, Perisic’s chance to join Arsenal is likely to happen.
