DBasia.news –  Newcastle United midfielder, Sean Longstaff, tried to stay focused on his duties with the Magpies, although he is now targeted by Manchester United.

“If someone told me last year, I would be in this position, I might laugh at them,” Longstaff said.

“Last year I had to decide whether to go to League One on loan. But a year later, you see your name associated with one of the biggest clubs in the world. “

United needed a new midfielder in the summer transfer market. As next season they are no longer strengthened by Ander Herrera and also the possibility of Paul Pogba.

Longstaff is one of the players who wanted United manjaer, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, to replace Herrera. According to reports from the Mirror, Newcastle did not want to release the 21-year-old player if the incoming bid was less than 50 million euros (Rp. 882 billion).

“I just put my head down. I’m just trying to get fit, that’s my only focus. I am still a Newcastle player, “Longstaff stated.

Last season Longstaff defended Newcastle in 26 matches in all competitions. He also contributed three goals and six assists.
