DBasia.news –  Manchester City did not give up on the fight for Premier League title 2018-19. They continued to pressure they rival, Liverpool, through a 2-0 victory score against Everton on the 26th week Premier League, Thursday (7/2).

Held at Goodison Park, two goals from The Citizens was scored by Aymeric Laporte(45+2’) and Gabriel Jesus (90+7’). As a result, Man City played one more game, seizing the top standings from Liverpool because of a one goal difference.

The standings changed rapidly. A while ago Liverpool was ahead five to seven points. Even Man City was crossed out from the Premier League title hunt list after losing 1-2 to Newcastle United.

But Liverpool failed to utilize the distance in dominance that gained two streaking draws at the Premier League, while up against Leicester City (1-1) and West Ham United (1-1). Man City continues to trim the distance.

Now with earning the same points and a pressure to be returned to Liverpool, Pep Guardiola gave a warning to the team directed by Jorgen Klopp. He explains that David Silva and his teammates will not give up on the fight for Premier League title.

“It’s far better now. we have played one more game. This is the best we can do. The fact is, we could have left 10 points a month ago while playing against Liverpool, says Guardilo, as quoted from The Dailymail.

“A few days ago we could have left seven points. No we are on the top of the standings. That’s a great message, the key is to never give up. That is a lesson for all athletes. Try to win matches because life can change fast,” he exclaimed.

The pressure in the Premier League is indeed felt by Liverpool, more so than Man City. But Liverpool has one small advantage in the hunt, because they only participate in the Premier League and Champions League. As for City still fights in the Premier League, Champions Leage, FA Cup, and Cup League.

“I’m not sure how far we can stride. Maybe we will die in the middle of the road. But we will keep trying. I’m used to hearing previous managers – Sir Alex Ferguson, Rafa Benitez – what they have to say and fuss about the schedules, nothing happened,” adds Guardiola

“I am here and I am well aware of the situation if we only play in one competition, the schedules will be better, but when you have to play four competitions, then you need to adapt,” he explains.
