The Price of Inter Milan Squad Decreases in the 2018-19 season

DBasia.news – As reported by Gazzetta dello Sport, the price of the Inter Milan squad dropped dramatically due to the inconsistent appearance of Luciano Spalletti’s side.
Inter failed to advance from the Champions League group stage and their trip to the second caste of the European club tournament, the Europa League, also ended in the last 16 after losing 0-1 on aggregate to the German team, Eintracht Frankfurt.
Especially at this time, Inter have not fully secured a position in the top four aka the Champions League zone. The Nerazzurri are only one point adrift of fifth place standings, AC Milan, until Inter must win in the final match of Serie A against Empoli (27/5).
Inter’s problem this season is not just an inconsistent of play, but also an internal drama involving the club with Ivan Perisic and Mauro Icardi.
Perisic was parked by Spalletti as he was not focused on playing with Inter and wanted to move in January. While Icardi, along with his agent and wife, Wanda Nara, pulled out a bid for a contract extension from Inter.
The club took a firm stand on removing Icardi’s armband and handing it over to Samir Handanovic. It took a long time for Spalletti before finally playing Icardi again. That’s the picture of the Inter squad this season.
Icardi was also most affected by the internal issue, plus his bad relationship with Spalletti. The price of last season was still 110 million euros and currently, the price of the Argentine attacker is 60 million euros.
So is Perisic. The Croatian attacker dropped from 50 million euros to 30 million euros.
While Radja Nainggolan, who was recruited by Inter at the start of the 24 million euro season plus involving two players: Nicolo Zaniolo and Davide Santon, now his price is only 15 million euros – from 39 million euros.
Two Inter players whose prices have not decreased are Lautaro Martinez (striker) and Milan Skriniar (center back). Both of them performed consistently this season. Martinez shines replacing Icardi, while Skriniar, who has just signed a new contract, is irreplaceable at the back.
