The Reasons Manchester United is Fighting for Bruno Fernandes

By db-admin

DBasia.news –  Bruno Fernandes is now officially a Manchester United player. Then how good is this Portuguese player that made the Reds Devils desperate to bring him in.

MU finally completed the transfer of Bruno Fernandes from Sporting CP. He was under a contract for 5.5 years at Old Trafford.

Quoted from Sky Sport, the Red Devils must spend as much as 68 pounds to bring in Bruno Fernandes. The arrival of the 25-year-old player will be an additional strength for the MU midfield.

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer does need an additional midfielder. As MU has now been highly dependent on Fred and Nemanja Matic in midfield after the injuries of Scott McTominay and Paul Pogba.

Then how good is Bruno Fernandes exactly that made MU work so hard to recruit him?

Bruno Fernandes appeared irreplaceable at Sporting this season. He only missed two matches in all competitions.

The Maia-born player became Sporting’s main attack motor. Bruno Fernandes played as an attacking midfielder in a 3-4-1-2 formation which is a mainstay of Sporting coach, Silas.

He has a major contribution to the Portuguese capital team with a score of 15 goals and 14 assists from 28 matches. The former Udinese player is a type of creative midfielder who now seems badly needed by MU.

This is evident by the statistics that have been quite good in creating opportunities at Sporting. According to WhoScored, the ability to release accurate passes became the main weapon of Bruno Fernandes.

He is the player with the most key passes in the Portuguese League this season. Bruno Fernandes recorded releasing 3.7 key passes in each match with a successful bait percentage of 77 percent. The average score of key passes per match of Bruno Fernandes is the same as that inscribed by Kevin De Bruyne in the English League this season.

Not only good at dividing the ball to his teammates, Bruno Fernandes also likes to launch long-distance kicks. He averaged 3.5 shots per game in the Portuguese League this season.

Let’s look forward to whether Bruno Fernandes is able to enliven MU’s midfield that is considered to be lacking in creativity.
