Thibaut Courtois objects if the Competition is Stopped and Barcelona Becomes Champion

By db-admin

DBasia.news – Real Madrid goalkeeper, Thibaut Courtois said he would object if the Laliga competition was stopped and Barcelona was given the title. According to the Belgian goalkeeper, it was Real Madrid who deserved the title as they were better than the Blaugrana.

LaLiga – and also other leagues – has been postponed due to the corona virus that has become endemic to the world. There is no certainty on when the league would resume. But the two European leagues: France (Ligue 1) and the Netherlands (Eredivisie) have ended the season.

PSG (Paris Saint-Germain) won Ligue 1, while the Eredivisie ended without champions and teams that were promoted and relegated. LaLiga have thought of options to do the same thing as Ligue 1.

If so, Barcelona will be crowned champions, as they are currently at the top of the standings with 58 points from 27 matches, two points adrift of Real Madrid who are in second place.

This distance is used as a reason for Courtois not to give the LaLiga title to Barca, especially this season Madrid held a draw and defeated them.

“We are only (two) points behind Barcelona and if the season is canceled and Barcelona is declared champions then that is unfair,” Courtois said when interviewed by Belgian television.

“We drew with them and defeated them this year, we are a better team.”

“In the case of Liverpool, it will be different because I don’t even know how many points they have. I want to finish this season,” added the Belgian goalkeeper.

Unlike LaLiga with its intense competition, the Premier League is dominated by Liverpool this season. The Reds are 25 points from Manchester City and only need two more wins to become champions – the first Premier League title for 30 years.
