DBasia.news –  The captain and tough defender of Real Madrid, Sergio Ramos, has the potential to receive additions from UEFA, regarding allegations that he intentionally received a yellow card.

The incident happened while Real Madrid faced Ajax Amsterdam in the first leg of the Champions League last 16 of 2018-1919. Los Blancos won the match with a score of 2-1.

In the match, Sergio Ramos received a yellow card before the game was over. The result, the captain of the Spanish national team could not appear in the second leg later.

After the match, Sergio Ramos admitted to have deliberately looked for a yellow card. Ramos said, “I would be lying if I said otherwise.”

Not long after, Sergio Ramos corrected his statement. The Sevilla soccer academy graduate claimed that he only deliberately gave Ajax a free kick to stop the game.

“I was surprised. My intention was to intentionally commit a violation, not a yellow card. I didn’t want a yellow card,” said Sergio Ramos.

“It was a dangerous counter-attack before the game was over. I mean by lying when I say the opposite. I admit to intentionally committing a violation.”

“If you intentionally want to get a yellow card, I could have done it in the group phase. At that time, there were still two matches after we were declared qualified,” added Sergio Ramos.

UEFA also investigated the situation. If it turns to be true, Sergio Ramos is threatened to receive additional penalties in addition to a ban on playing in the second leg.
