DBasia.news –  David Luiz’s offense against Mohamed Salah, which resulted in a penalty for Liverpool, was highlighted by Unai Emery, Arsenal’s manager. Emery believes his team does not deserve the penalty.

Liverpool won 3-1 over Arsenal in Week three of the Premier League which took place at Anfield, Saturday (8/24) evening WIB. One goal was scored by Joel Matip (41 ‘) and two goals by Mohamed Salah (penalty 49 and 58 minutes), while Arsenal scored through Lucas Torreira (85’).

Mo Salah’s penalty goal in the 49th minute according to Emery has changed the match (wiping out Arsenal’s hopes). Emery insisted that the penalty was not appropriate for his team.

“Penalty is the key to the match, but this (a penalty offense) is very light. If it is considered holding back then I don’t think so,” Emery stated as quoted by the Guardian.

“It was disappointing because they conceded a goal at that time, as we had done quite well in the first half, we created two or three chances to score and defend well against their cross baits.”

At minute 49, David Luiz received a yellow card as he was considered to have pulled Mo Salah’s shirt and caused a penalty. David Luiz speaks about the penalty.

“It was a reflex, but I spoke to Mo and he said he did not feel the touch, then the referee gave me a yellow card which meant I could no longer commit fouls for the third goal. That affected my game,” explained Luiz.

Despite losing for the first time this season, Emery is confident of Arsenal’s bright future after seeing their game against Liverpool.

“We can be optimistic for the future, I think (Joe) Willock and (Nicolas) Pepe have played well. We want to keep the ball even more, but the way Liverpool pushed was very strong,” Emery added.
