Under Enrique, Mata Wants to Join the Spain National Team
By news-admin
DBasia.news – Manchester United midfielder, Juan Mata, stated his ambition to be part of the Spain national team. The spirit was initiated by Luis Enrique’s statement.
Juan Mata position in the Spain national team has been over since 2016. Besides, during the 2018 World Cup, he also didn’t call by Julen Lopetegui.
But now, his hope arises as the new coach, Luis Enrique decided to give the new and old player to the 70 initial players for the first match versus England in Wembley Stadium on September.
“I’m again excited about the possibility of coming back. I obviously want to come back and try to play as many games as I can with the national team,” Mata told ESPN.
“I’m really excited about it and I think the future, it can be still bright for Spain, because we have young players coming (through) that, as I said, they have the level to compete,” Mata explained.
“We have some senior players that have been there for some years and we have the experience, so I think it’s a good mix and hopefully it can be a good future for Spanish football,” he mentioned.
Juan Mata scored his debut with Spain national team in 2009. The next year, Mata helped La Furia Roja to win the World Cup. Until now, he scored 10 goals in 41 matches.
