DBasia.news – The former Manchester City player, Yaya Toure, praised Raheem Sterling for rising. Toure considered Pep Guardiola was the key to Sterling’s slick appearance.
Sterling became Manchester City’s goal machine this season. The Englishman has packed 15 goals in the Premier League.
Toure, who has played with Sterling, feels the player’s ability continues to grow. Toure had difficulties when facing Sterling who was still defending Liverpool.
“Raheem Sterling, joined Manchester City when Manuel Pellegrini came to power. Since Pep Guardiola came, Sterling is in another world. He’s a complete player,” Toure commented.
“Pep Guardiola has given Sterling the confidence he needs. When Sterling played at Liverpool, I was always afraid of him because he was short and fast, very fast. Sterling, Luis Suarez, and Philippe Coutinho? They could not be stopped,” he added.
“He got a lot of criticism and it was very difficult for him. However, he continues to work hard and now deserves to be the best player of the season,” Toure said.
