DBasia.news –  Sao Paulo successfully secured the service of 36-year-old right-back Dani Alves. The player was recruited for free after deciding to end cooperation with PSG (Paris Saint-Germain). Alves’ decision was right.

Alves has won 40 trophies in his 18-year career as a professional footballer, whether at club level or internationally with the Brazilian national team. Choosing to spend the end of his career at home is right.

“I could have chosen another team to strengthen. But I chose to go back to Brazil, my country, my people, to a club that I love. It’s hard to believe, but I’m here!” Alves said on the official page of Sao Paulo.

Unlike Daniele De Rossi who still wants to find a challenge and make it the reason for joining Boca Juniors, Alves just wants to enjoy the end of his career. Wandering the trophy and conquering Europe, what else is he looking for?

“Daniel Alves represents what management wants from Sao Paulo – one of the leaders in the world and known for his great professionalism, strong determination, and an endless hunger to win and win the title,” said Carlos Augusto de Barros e Silva, President of Sao Paulo.

Sao Paulo signed him until 2022. That means Alves will be 39 years old when his contract expires. Alves returned to Brazil after 18 years of traveling to Europe. Bahia is a club that has been defended at the academy level (1998-2001) and the first team (2001-2002).

Among the 40 titles he has won, Alves’s biggest success was when he strengthened Barcelona in 2008-2016. There he won six LaLiga titles, three Champions League, four Copa del Rey. In addition to Barcelona, Alves also strengthens Sevilla, Juventus, and PSG.
