DBasia.news – Antonio Valencia’s future at Manchester United has begun to get a bright spot. Manchester United manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer said it was possible Valencia would leave the club at the end of the season.
Valencia, 33, later rarely played because of injury. Moreover, it will be difficult for him to play in the current squad because Ashley Young and Diogo Dalot fill the right-back position that is usually occupied by him.
Inter Milan are rumored to be the next destination for the Ecuadorian. Valencia will leave on a free transfer because his contract expires at the end of this season, and according to Solskjaer, the club is reluctant to extend his contract.
“He is not 100 percent fit, still working to get fit and he has had a fantastic career here, at Manchester United and England,” Solskjaer said.
“He is one of the Premier League winners left in the player locker room, but I’m not sure if Manchester United and Antonio will continue to work together next season.”
Valencia bought Man United from Wigan Athletic in 2009. Packing 93 caps and 11 goals with the Ecuador national team has appeared 338 times with the Red Devils and scored 25 goals. But in this season, Valencia’s playing hours began to be limited.
