DBasia.news – Barcelona are getting closer to winning the 2018-19 League title. On Week 31 of LaLiga, Blaugrana won 2-0 against rivals, Atletico Madrid, at Camp Nou, Sunday (7/4) evening.
Two Barcelona goals scored by Lionel Messi (85 ‘) and Luis Suarez (86’). Meanwhile, Atletico Madrid actually played with 10 people after Diego Costa got a red card in the 28th minute.
With that victory, Barcelona are already on the verge of winning. Ivan Rakitic and his mates were 11 points ahead of Atletico who finished second.
“Those are three very important points. We are closer to the title, but still have the chance to continue to win,” Valverde said as told by Four Four Two.
“The work must be completed. Today is a fundamental match as they can be very meaningful,” added the coach.
“We are very thrilled because our opponents are ranked second in the standings. In addition, they are a big team that has struggled to the end with one less person,” Valverde said.
Valverde did not forget to praise Luis Suarez. The Uruguayan national team has scored seven goals in the last nine matches in all competitions.
“Suarez has always been a determinant. He gives the opponent’s a headache and you don’t know when he appears,” Valverde said.
Next, Barcelona will travel to Manchester United’s headquarters in the 2018-2019 Champions League quarter-final first leg match at Old Trafford Stadium, Thursday (11/4). Barca reportedly could not play Ousmane Dembele.
